Job Description

The Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Houston North IAH near Bush Intercontinental Airport is actively seeking to hire a very strong, exceptionally knowledgeable, energetic and experienced General Manager to join our phenomenal team.

The General Manager effectively directs and coordinates staff, activities and available resources in order to accomplish hotel objectives & goals, and is responsible for leading the hotel team, ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining the asset.  

The General Manager is responsible for the entire operation of the hotel.  The General Manager (GM) is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel, by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction, and effectiveness and efficiencies.  Role includes goal setting, recruiting, developing, and retaining of associates, labor expense control, control of general expenses and resolving guest related issues in accordance with the company goals.

The GM will coordinate, direct and manage the hotel operation to achieve maximum profitability, ensure guest satisfaction, protect the financial assets of the business and maintain the building. The GM will oversee HR matters including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, coaching/counseling and performance management. Ensures that product quality standards are met in all areas of the hotel as it relates to the appearance, levels of maintenance and cleanliness; establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the hotel.

This position is also responsible for other duties as assigned, or as needed.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience as a General Manager required.
  • Hilton Brand Hotels experience highly preferred.
  • This job requires ability to perform the following: Using a keyboard to generate correspondence, reports, etc.; carrying, lifting pushing and/or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility.
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
  • Past experience should demonstrate ability to exceed guest expectations, develop and execute revenue strategies, and manage costs in order to meet and exceed financial goals.
  • Will be required to work some nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
