Summary: Front Office Manager

Hockley Valley is constantly growing and is looking for an experienced Front Office Manager to join the team.  The Front Office Manager helps Hockley Valley run efficiently its operations through a range of administrative, financial, and managerial tasks. The Front Office Manager must be able to motivate and lead the Front Office team to achieve guest satisfaction, and team goals within the department. A successful Front Office Manager must possess excellent customer service skills, excellent problem solving skills, multitasking abilities, numerical skills, patience, and have an understanding of hotel operations and functions

Job Duties: Front Office Manager

  • Ensures to provide smooth daily operations of the Front Office, while maintaining high levels of guest service
  • Handles all guests inquires
  • Addresses customers' complaints or concerns
  • Accept reservations, changes, and cancellations in the absence of reservations staff
  • Assists Sales Team with inputting group blocks, and request of any changes on them 
  • Ensures inter-departmental communication and cooperation 
  • Attends Revenue meetings 
  • Creates rate cards 
  • Implements and monitors number of rooms available 
  • Inputs all reservation segments into historical data tracking 
  • Attends BEO & Operations meetings 
  • Arrange billing for the groups 
  • Prepares & reviews weekly schedule 
  • Monitors gift shop inventory 
  • Interviews, hires and train new employees
  • Creates & updates employee schedules
  • Ensures employees are following proper protocols
  • Reviews operational reports & emails
  • Budget preparation / planning
  • Oversees payroll for the Front desk associates
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations 

Job Requirements


Requirements; Front Office Manager

  • Post-Secondary education in Hospitality and/or Business preferred
  • 1 year experience as a Front Office Manager or equivalent; in the hotel industry is an asset
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced and consistently changing environment
  • Must be able to multi task
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving      problems as necessary
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • Must have full knowledge of all roles within the department
  • Must be able to work with and understand  financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be self-motivated ,detail oriented, a positive attitude and warm demeanor
