Job Description

The Cheeca Lodge & Spa, owned and managed by Northwood Hospitality is offering a number of exciting internship and management training opportunities for current and recent graduates. The talent development programs offer the ability to gain real life experience while learning alongside knowledgeable and talented individuals in our expanding campus.

As a part of the Culinary internship program, the intern will be partnered with the Culinary management team to successfully accomplish the internship curriculum.

What we look for:

The Cheeca Lodge & Spa is seeking full-time, sophomore, junior, senior and recent hospitality graduates for their internship program. While we do emphasize selecting students majoring in hospitality management for our resort and restaurant operations, we are open to those interested in exploring the world of hospitality.

Things you want to know:

Q: When does the internship and manager in training programs start?

A: June 2021

Q: How long does the internship program last?

A: We offer two internship programs, a summer for two to three months

and a year-round six-month program.

Q: What areas/locations do I have to choose from?

A: Any locations within our complex.

Q: Are internships paid?

A: Yes, we only offer paid internships.

Q: How do I apply for an internship?

A: Apply online at www.cheeca.com and under the career section you will find three postings to choose from.

Q: After I successfully complete an internship with Cheeca what's next? A: All students who complete a full internship program with successful bi-weekly and final internship evaluations will receive a "fast pass" through Northwood's standard recruitment process. Entry-level management positions are sent out for their immediate consideration.

It gets better! Graduating seniors that do a "make their mark" may receive an invitation to join our organization throughout.

We are searching for exceptional talent! How to Stand Out:

* Be aware of your personal strengths, opportunities for growth, and be prepared to respond appropriately when asked about them.

* Build a solid resume and avoid costly mistakes (typos, formatting errors, disclosure of confidential information, etc.) * Consider the verbal and non-verbal messages that your resume may send. Ask yourself, "Is my e-mail address, voicemail greeting, and ring tone professional?" and "Would I be proud of my social websites if a potential employer viewed them?"

* Utilize your resources (career service representatives, faculty members, formal and informal mentor, etc.) to provide valuable feedback and constructive criticism.

* Know your competition and learn how to stand out from the crowd...in a positive way!

* Know your employment prospects and do your research.

* Dress for success. First impressions are extremely important. Make sure to make a lasting impression with business professional attire.

* Come prepared with three to five interesting questions to ask during your interview and networking meetings.

Remember...

Confidence is Key!
