Job Description

  

  • Full-cycle accounting duties for multiple hotels:
    • Record daily receipts and disbursements on cash register. Prepare weekly bank reconciliations, investigate differences, and communicate discrepancies with senior accounting staff.
    • Review and post invoices entered by hotel accounting staff to ensure completeness and accuracy. Communicate with hotel General Manager when issues arise.
    • Prepare all monthly closing journal entries: payroll, accruals, recurring, and adjusting.
    • Prepare all balance sheet reconciliation schedules: prepaid, accruals, inventory, etc. Communicate discrepancies with      senior accounting staff.
    • Prepare sales tax/occupancy tax schedules used to file monthly/quarterly returns. Communicate issues with tax calculations to Senior Accountant.
    • Coordinate weekly check runs with Accounts Payable. Determine which invoices are to be processed by reviewing cash flow projection, accounts payable aging report, and communicate with hotel accounting staff.
    • Review daily revenue reporting entered by hotel accounting staff, spot check for completeness and accuracy.
    • Coordinate and communicate with hotel accounting staff to gather all financial information needed to prepare monthly financial statements for multiple hotels.
    • Review monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness. Communicate with hotel accounting staff to obtain information required to complete the statements.
    • Participate on Financial Preliminary Review Call.
    • Provide analytical, supplemental, and other data as requested by hotel and corporate staff.
    • Additional duties as requested.

Job Requirements

 · Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles.

· Intermediate Excel knowledge including formatting, copying, editing, linking cells, basic formulas etc...

· Proven work experience as full-charge bookkeeper/accountant for multiple entities.

· Speak and write clearly to report financial information.

Specific Vocational Preparation: Hotel accounting experience, two-year Accounting Degree, or comparable experience. M3 experience a plus. Must be proficient in math, have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, work independently, prioritize, and meet all deadlines.
