Job Summary

To be the main point of contact for guests in the dining room. Responsible for guiding guests through the menu.

Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:

  • Approach all guest interactions with genuine warmth and hospitality

  • Guide guests through their meal from the time they sit until they leave the restaurant

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all food and beverage offerings

  • Write down guest order and properly enter into POS system

  • Carry plates from the kitchen to the dining room

  • Carry drinks on a tray from the bar to the dining room

  • Set tables with appropriate silverware and plate ware as determined by their order

  • Cash/credit card handling at the completion of each table and at the end of service

  • Communicate with host about any preferences to note for future visits

  • Communicate with manager about any issues

  • Communicate with kitchen regarding any allergies or dietary restrictions

  • Perform side work as detailed in the server manual

  • Other duties may be required

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a fine dining/casual fine dining restaurant, at least 1 year in a serving position

  • Experience with restaurant POS systems

  • Basic wine/beer knowledge

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Intermediate food knowledge

Must have the ability to communicate in English. A calm disposition and the ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and be a team player. Stand/walk for 8+ hours+
