Job Purpose: To prepare food items in the pastry section of the kitchen assigned to you by the Head Chef according to standard recipes to ensure guest satisfaction is consistent with Nusret Standards.
A. To ensure that all food products are consistent with recipes.
B. To monitor closely the mise en place requirements for the pastry section.
C. To maintain all mise en place at a sufficient level to ensure an uninterrupted flow of food during the service period while controlling food quality, consistency, appearance and taste.
D. To monitor the daily work assigned to staff and ensure that given guidelines are followed and to take the necessary corrective measures.
E. To work straight or split shifts depending on the needs of the business.
F. To check incoming goods are consistent with the relevant order sheet and quality specification while ensuring wastage is kept to a minimum.
G. To carry out daily checks to ensure storage areas are maintained to a high level of hygiene.
H. To supervise and prepare daily mise en place and ensure that the pastry section is ready for service.
I. To ensure kitchen and food preparation areas are totally clean when left unattended.
J. To coach every new chef for the first few weeks, following standards for training.
K. To assist in the ongoing training of employees ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency.

High School Diploma
Minimum 3 months baking experience at a full service restaurant or hotel.
