Position Summary:

Service Inspired Restaurants (SIR Corp.) has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Beverage, supporting our entire brand portfolio, including Jack Astor's, Scaddabush, Canyon Creek and Signature (The Loose Moose, Duke's Refresher Bar, and Reds Wine Tavern).   This position reports to the VP of Marketing, working directly with the Purchasing and Operations Division Leaders, at our Support Centre in Burlington. Not only will this person handle all aspects of vendor management, she/he will be responsible for developing and executing an innovative beverage program for all of our restaurants. The Beverage Director's key objective will be to ensure SIR Corp. is recognized as an industry leader in the beverage category.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Increase overall beverage sales by introducing and promoting appealing and compelling beverage programming that is relevant and distinct to each brand
  • Research new and innovative cocktail recipes by building on beverage trends
  • Manage a team of internal Beverage experts on product development
  • Share 'Beverage Best Practices' across Brand Concepts and ensure consistent execution
  • Organize and conduct business reviews / ideation sessions with beverage vendor base
  • Effectively communicate new programs to marketing, culinary and operations
  • Manage Vendor sources to ensure optimum relationships exist to support innovations, supply, pricing and programs
  • Manage Beverage budgets / budget reconciliation process and budget alignment with Marketing programs
  • Access new beverage offerings and product proposals from vendor partners
  • Together with the Beverage Manager, manage beverage activation process including system updates, pricing and recipe adherence for operations
  • Coordinate training and develop education programs for operations teams
  • Achieve beverage cost targets and identify unique opportunities for expanded profitability through beverage

 

Requirements:

  • Beverage innovation experience at both operations and marketing levels
  • Strong business acumen - understands brand building process
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and provincial liquor laws an asset
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and deadlines oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • Maintain the ability to prioritize, multi-task, self-motivate and work with high levels of confidentiality
  • Commitment, teamwork and winning mindset - strong collaborative capabilities
  • Strategic thinker, successful in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiative
  • Expert knowledge of wine, beer, and spirit products
