Department: Housekeeping

Report to: Housekeeping Manager /Assistant Housekeeping Manager/Supervisors

Hours: As required

Objective: Full cooperation is essential with all employees to sustain high levels of productivity. To maintain a high standard of time management in order to complete assigned tasks for the day. Ensure all guests' requests are handled as promptly as possible. Be friendly and courteous to all guests as well as fellow staff members.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inform Executive or Assistant Executive Housekeeper of all jobs accomplished.
  • Inform Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager when wood/kindling needs to be ordered.
  • Unload wood on delivery ensuring it is chopped, and put away.
  • Assist in maintaining criteria set by Housekeeping department/Wood shed keeping it neat and clean on a weekly basis.
  • Perform daily cleaning of sweeping, moping, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning equipment.
  • If we are short staffed the woodman may be asked to help in housekeeping.
  • Observe dress code and wear appropriate footwear.
  • Ensure Public safety including general comfort and well being of public.
  • Assist grounds team with shovelling snow near woodshed and around property (winter).
  • Receive linen bins from the laundry service, sort, stock and put dirty linen in bins to return for cleaning.
  • Maintain regular work schedule as outlined.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Maintain (ensuring quality) all wood bins around property.
  • Sweep all required sections of property.
  • Ensure garbage shed and ash buckets are cleaned every Wednesday.
  • Check golf carts daily for fuel and cleanliness.
  • Carry out all tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Be friendly and courteous to all guests and fellow staff members.
  • Maintain regular work schedule as outlined.
  • Report to work in a clean uniform and clean shaven.

 

Requirements/Experience:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have previous by hand wood chopping experience.
  • Field work in housekeeping/laundry department.
  • The ability to make constant radio contact in English on a daily basis both with the Front Desk and the Housekeeping Mgr/Assistant.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to emergency situations.
  • Embraces challenges, ambitious.
  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record in order to drive company vehicles.
  • Physical demands, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, chopping wood (up to 30 lbs).
  • Will be required to work outside in all seasons (Winter, spring, summer and Fall).
