Position Description

We sure can use your enthusiasm and abilities as a Vice President of Asset Management for Interstate Hotels and Resorts.

In this position, you will act as the main relationship contact with hotel owners helping to bridge the interests of the owner and of Interstate. You will optimize asset values for owners by establishing operating profit expectations, monitoring performance and working directly with the regional operations teams to maximize customer (guests, associates, corporate and owners) satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals. You will provide information, act as liaison between operating teams and hotel brands, and provide active asset management to maximize property values and return on investment for owners.

As Vice President of Asset Management, essential functions include:

  • Actively asset manage a portfolio of 20+ select-service and full-service hotels by regularly interacting with owners and regional operating teams including performing regular ROI analysis and performance data analysis to identify and recommend any opportunities for improvement. Maintain a 90%+ owner retention rate.

  • Proactively manage owner relationship and ensure that good communication is maintained between the owner, operating teams, General Manager and Interstate.

  • Review, benchmark and analyze hotel- and portfolio-level financial data and keep informed of the dynamics of each market area to develop a strong understanding of the hotels and their respective markets.

  • Effectively interact with in-house departments including but not limited to investments/acquisitions, accounting, and legal to ensure a consistent understanding of the performance and any potential issues of the hotels.

  • Drive capital improvement process including management of Property Improvement Plans (PIP) and any other renovation or development projects in the hotel portfolio.

  • Act as a brand liaison for hotel owners, helping to ensure owners interests are met while maintaining good relations with hotel brands.


  • A minimum of 10 years in a hotel general manager and multi-unit/regional operations management role is required.

  • Minimum of a four-year degree in hotel management, or other related degree.

  • Expertise in hotel operations, marketing, revenue maximization, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and effective staff leadership and motivation are critical skills.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with complicated capital improvement project management, to include: product improvement, plan implementation, rebranding strategies and value-add initiatives is considered a major plus.

  • The individual will be team oriented with a strong leadership background and must have managed a team with diverse skill sets and levels.

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • The candidate should be highly skilled in financial analytics and able to run detailed financial models.

  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills up and down the organizational chart.

  • The individual will have extensive experience working with Asian Hotel ownership entities.

  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin - speaking, reading and writing.
