Job Description


Job OverviewThe Recreation Intern is responsible for assisting the Recreation Team in a variety of functions during their internship.  S/he will have the opportunity to primarily work in our activities department but will have additional opportunities to work in all recreation divisions, gaining hands-on experience.Essential Functions
  • Interacts with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assists with providing leadership and group organization in an enthusiastic and positive manner
  • Assists with the execution of all youth, teen, family, convention and associate recreation programs
  • Encourages participation from all involved
  • Assists in all areas of recreation, ensuring a successful and in depth understanding of the Recreation program
  • Follows established lesson plan for each session
  • Assists the Recreation Manager and Director of Recreation with recreation team leadership
  • Provides positive feedback to program participants
  • Maintains control of groups/children at all times
  • Registers participants in youth programs, events and activities
  • Creates end of shift reports to be reviewed by the Recreation Supervisor Intern and Recreation Manager

Job Requirements


  • Junior/Senior level standing at a college/university required
  • Prior Recreational Programming experience preferred
  • Hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • At least one year of customer service required
