Star Service Agent

Position Summary

The Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel is seeking Star Service Agent to join our team. Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel is a 4 Diamond, luxury, 556 room hotel with 50,000 square feet meeting space. Star Service Agent responsibilities include performing the following functions: answering incoming/in-house phone lines, directing calls and/or taking messages, coordinating communication among hotel personnel, assisting guests in completing outside calls, receiving and performing wake-up calls for guests, maintaining records and/or files of all communication and activities.

More specifically, responsibilities include:

  • Operate multi-line equipment
  • Answer phones in a polite professional manner
  • Use computer to verify identity/room number of guest being called
  • Directs calls to appropriate extension
  • Record messages/guest requests on appropriate computer screen, forwards messages/requests to respective individuals or departments
  • Provide accurate directions to hotel from major inbound locations
  • Answer questions regarding hotel functions and facilities
  • Transmit messages via computer, two way radio and digital pager
  • Receive, processes wake-up calls, room service orders and guest requests
  • Perform wake-up call functions
  • Transmit messages via computer and facsimile machine
  • Serves as communication hub during Emergency Procedures
  • Monitor timelines of Star Service Delivery
  • Monitor operation of call accounting equipment to ensure proper application of charges and collection of revenues

Required Skills and Experience

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Excellent telephone, radio dispatch and guest service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple lines while maintaining efficient operation
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Basic Computer skill knowledge

Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: One plus year(s) experience as a Telecommunications or customer service coordinator in a high volume hospitality environment
