Summary

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Assist Director of Finance in reviewing and monitoring the financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding the assets, and preparing all financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and HEI Hotels and Resorts Standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:


* Assist with the posting of accounts receivable payments.
* Assist with follow-up billing and credit collection documentation and inform Director of Finance of any potential uncollectible accounts.
* Assist in the handling of guest inquiries. Respond in a timely manner.
* Assist in reconciling open account status items.
* Perform general administrative and clerical tasks for the accounting department as needed to ensure internal and external compliance standards are met.
* Responsible for maintaining and updating contracts, permits and license register on regular basis
* Assist with the reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts each period.
* Promotes internal controls and stays up-to date with accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
* Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance and the Associate Director of Finance
* Assist the Associate Director of Finance with the daily Income Audit.
* Assist with the coordination of Group Billing requirements as needed.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:


* Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel Skills
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Analytical approach to problem solving with high regard for detail and accuracy
* Must have the ability to effectively deal with guest questions, comments and concerns in a friendly and positive manner
* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a changing work environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, using appropriate phone salutations and etiquette.
* Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
* Marriott FSPMS Skills preferred but not necessary



EDUCATION REQUIRED


* BS/BA degree and/or equivalent work experience in an accounting or hospitality field.

EXPERIENCE


* Experience in Hotel or Hospitality related Guest Service and Accounting preferred.
