Spa Supervisor

Responsible for overseeing the proper training, implementation, and set up for all spa front of house guest areas including atrium café , fitness pool and lounge areas. Will work to maintain excellent guest and vendor relationships for the spa and will uphold brand standards for services, products, protocols, and front of house staff support. They will also be responsible for ongoing training, support of linen and product inventory, and control procedures, quality control, site inspections, and future development according to the The Spa Standard Operating Procedures.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Spa Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

* Responsible for overseeing the proper training, implementation, and set up for all spa front of house guest areas.

* Must provide assistance as the spa opens and continue to support the service staff once the spa is in operation.

* Will work to maintain excellent guest and vendor relationships for the spa and will uphold brand standards for services, products, protocols, and front of house staff support.

* They will also be responsible for ongoing training, support of linen and product inventory,and control procedures, quality control, site inspections, and future development according to the The Spa Standard Operating Procedures

* Support in the hiring, training and managing of front of house staff to be accountable for their actions and to be conversant in the business objectives.

* Monitor activities and issues daily and shift by shift.

* The effective Spa Areas Supervisor will resolve guest challenges with helpful solutions and a bit of imagination, while being mindful of delivering consistent service.

* Maintain current knowledge of all spa services, pricings, offerings, schedules, specials and other services provided at the spa.

* Set the example by using proper etiquette and professionalism at all times.

* Look for every opportunity to suggest new and enhanced guest experiences, to encourage positive staff behavior, and to direct effectively.

* May be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the spa: assist with all areas of the spa facility, administrative duties, training, manager on duty coverage and meetings.

* Previous spa treatment supervisor experience operating in a luxury resort environment preferred.

* Ability to communicate fluently in the primary language of the workplace, both verbally and nonverbally.

* Ability to perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.

* Exhibit the technical skill of computer literacy and competency in learning new software programs. Prior experience with Spa Soft and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

* Work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.

* Ability to make rational business decisions and demonstrate analytical thinking and acute problem solving.

* Anticipate guest needs and respond with congenial hospitality.

* Highly organized, ability to multi-task, take on multiple projects at one time and work well within a team.

* Communicate effectively and interact professionally with owners, guests, fellow managers, employees and vendors.

* Ability to effectively and consistently develop the supporting staff.

* Ability to create accountability and provide clear expectations for supporting staff – including proper documentation, coaching and counseling as well as acknowleding excellent performance.

* Ability to respond to guest concerns with urgency and professionalism.

* Previous experience in spas, hotels, administration or customer service.

* Extensive knowledge of the spa industry.

* Ability to remain current with all professional certifications.

Training:

* Ensure continuous spa education is undertaken, recorded, and monitored to all employees under the positions scope of supervision.

* Provide regularly scheduled product knowledge training classes for team members.

* Conduct training for the front of house team in accordance to the Annual Training Plan. Ensure that all employees have the necessary skills to perform their assigned operational duties.

* Ensure that the standards of all services and operations performed are set in the spa training manual, and are conducted as per the The Spa standard operating procedures.

* Attend training sessions that pertain to spa operations and guest services whenever required to regularly deliver updated operations knowledge to the team.

* In conjunction with the Assistant Spa Director/Managing Director implement effective follow up measures to ensure efficiency and optimal staff performance.

* Proactively schedule, supervise and conduct employee new-hire and on-going training programs under the positions scope of supervision.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

* Constant standing and walking throughout shift

* Remain in a stationary position for 8 hours throughout shift

* Able to reach 24 inches

* Exert physical effort in transporting up to 25 pound
