This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Sales Manager to join the only independent, boutique hotel downtown Atlanta.  The Ellis Hotel has been completely renovated as of May 2017, and ranked #1 hotel in Greater Atlanta, by Conde Nast Traveler in 2017.

Position Focus:

  • Sell to planners of group blocks, meetings, catering, and corporate transient business.

  • A true self-starter who loves to prospect, make sales calls, build relationships, and close business.

  • To increase profits by increasing room sales and generating business through aggressive sales efforts, discretion and judgment.

  • Through independent sales efforts, this position affects business operations and profitability.Has discretionary ability to manage rates, product lines, and commits operational hotel departments.



  • Sells all product lines of the hotel including group, corporate negotiated transient rooms, catering, packages, and restaurant promotions. Maximize revenue through appropriate negotiations with customer.

  • Solicits business, through prospecting, sales calls, email, and client site visits and entertainment in assigned territory. Qualifies the prospect’s needs and sells the hotel’s offerings, to meet those needs. Closes business and gains repeat bookings and reservations through relationship building.

  • Participates in completion of all of the appropriate forms and tools used for in-house communication. Follows up with the proper department to ensure what has been committed to the client is, in fact, delivered.

  • Coordinates food and beverage requirements agreed upon to the Catering department to execute.

  • Participates in sales blitzes and sales trips.

  • Meets budget and Group, Catering, Corp Transient booking goals and prospecting booking goals monthly. Meets in-person sales calls, prospecting, site visit and entertainment activity goals monthly.

  • Additional duties which you may be asked to perform.

  • Adheres to all sales department and hotel policies and procedures.



  • Demonstrate excellent sales skills by verbally talking and listening to clients.

  • Prepare plans/BEOs for functions by writing clear requests to each effected department.

  • Have a basic knowledge of local and national trends regarding business and competition strategies.

  • Have the ability to talk with different types of people to give information, answer questions and provide service required.

  • Travel to local and national areas to attend functions/tradeshows which may involve being away from home for several days at a time.

  • Ideally, good working knowledge of Delphi, Opera, Travel Click products, and Microsoft Office products.

Salary Range is:  $50,000.00-$55,000.00 (Based on experience)
