InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) currently has an opening for an experienced Senior Sales Manager - representing two IHG company-managed hotels in San Francisco, Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf and Holiday Inn Express Fisherman’s Wharf. We are looking for a leader capable of ensuring the overall success of our International and Domestic Tour and Travel market segments. The right candidate will demonstrate the ability to leverage relationships with high-profile clients, while creating and implementing comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits for the hotel. This position requires effective long-range planning to generate successful tour series inventory and FIT pricing strategies.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Sell hotel room nights through direct client contact, conducting regularly scheduled sales calls and participating in out-of-town sales-related events and high-visibility industry tradeshows including Pow Wow, NTA and IHG Key Account Forum.
* Achieve personal and team goals as assigned
* Develop and implement hotel-level tactical sales plans as assigned to achieve greater profitability through increasing average rates, increasing overall occupancy, increasing business volume during off-peak periods, and enhancing the image of the hotel in the local community. . Proactively recommend adjustments and strategies to capitalize on new opportunities uncovered or to off-set account shortfalls and market downturns
* Monitor, implement, develop and make recommendations in areas of group sales strategies, budgets, marketing plans, analysis of market and competitors and customer trends. Support DOSM in forecasting, month end, business analysis and sales team productivity. Act as a liaison between Sales and other hotel departments helping to promote a Culture of Sales
* Active role in the process of preparing the annual hotel marketing plan for assigned segments, including: key and target account strategies which support the overall objectives of the hotel; providing plans and budget information for tradeshows, sales missions and trips, as well as other promotional opportunities
* Demonstrate leadership and initiative promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination within the sales department and with all other departments. Review the daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions in conjunction with department heads to proactively expedite these situations.
* Maintain positive representation and interaction with outside contacts within local, domestic and international markets to ensure repeat business, identify new business opportunities and promote awareness with diverse groups including:

* Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction,
* Top-tier Wholesalers, Tour Operators, Airline Partners, Travel Agencies,
* IHG Global Sales Directors
* Other influential third party organizations, such as SF Travel; professional organizations, community groups, local media

Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts, as well as rolling action plans by segment; monitor results to ensure sales and revenue goals are met or exceeded.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, and 4 years total experience working with a large or a variety of market segments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting. You must be able to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc. and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
