I. Job Summary
Maintain the security of property and guests.
II. Job Responsibilities
Security Management
* Enforce staff compliance with the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
* Keep accurate logs of all calls, deliveries, guest assistance and security issues. Highlight problem areas and discuss these with the Director of Security.
* Ride or walk the property to ensure the security of the area at all times.
* Be knowledgeable in order to repair all property locks, safes and elevators.
* Enforce lock reset procedures if employee has lost keys that access any property location on Cheeca Resort & Spa.
* File loss-of-property/theft/incident reports.
* Manage evening deliveries, ensuring timely delivery to the appropriate location.
Guest Management
* Greet all guests encountered on the property.
* Ensure confidentiality of hotel guests.
* Follow proper procedures for entry into guest rooms.
* Assist guests by acting as a valet, showing guests to rooms, assisting guests with luggage, and acquiring housekeeping items for guests (toilet paper, sheets, pillows, etc.).
* Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner and follow up within 15 minutes.
* Effectively handle guest security questions and interactions with patience, compassion and respect.
* Promptly and effectively work with guests when filing loss-of-property and other incident reports.
* Follow proper procedures when assisting a guest who has lost a room key.
* Know how and when to contact local law officials or emergency health services when necessary.
* Assist engineering when needed.
* Assist in conducting follow--up training for all resort staff regarding the Emergency Action Plan and Safety Program.
* Train EAP response staff on how to work with guests in the event of an emergency evacuation, fire or other incident that would involve movement of guests to a safe, secure location.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
* High school diploma or GED
Skills and Experience (Essential)
* At least 18 years of age
* Valid US State Driver's license or an international driver's license
* Able to read, communicate effectively in English and have superb interpersonal skills
* Must be able to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when resolving employee or guest complaints
Skills and Experience (Preferred)
* One or more years in a security position at a reputable firm
* Computer skills
* Fluency in Spanish and English
