Sofitel - Philadelphia is hiring a Saute Cook to join our Culinary team! 

The Sofitel - Philadelphia is a AAA rated 4-diamond, luxury hotel located in the Rittenhouse Square section of center city Philadelphia.  With 306 beautifully appointed guestrooms, inclusive of 68 junior suites and 1 Presidential Suite, 16,000 square feet of meeting space, Chez Colette, our Brasserie-style restaurant, Liberté, our newly renovated urban, chic lounge, fitness center, and business center, the hotel has been named Number 1 by TripAdvisor in Philadelphia.

Qualified candidate will work mainly on the hot side station, preparing menu items with care, expertise and passion.  Candidate will be trained on the entire menu, and ultimately will be able to prepare every item on the menu, meeting our standards of preparation, taste, organization, and knowledge of cooking temperatures. Will take a leadership role on the line, to be able to ensure quality and consistency for all menu items. 

Responsibilities include: cleaning and organizing the station, properly clean and butcher meats and fish, making all sauces and garnishes, giving ideas and implementing specials of the day, be able to efficiently work a Saute station, Grill station or Garde Manger station.

Job Requirements

Candidate must have excellent culinary skills, and be knowledgeable on of the equipment in the kitchen, sanitation standards and proper knife skills.  Will be able to assist others and give guidelines to a dishwasher, pantry cook and trainees.  The candidate must have at least 3 years’ experience on the line in a restaurant, preferably with French / American cuisine a la carte. Must able to work with little or no supervision and be able to organize a station independently.  Must be creative with exceptional attention to detail.  Passion and a love of cooking a must.
