Hotel Overview: Nestled along the shores of the legendary Yangcheng Lake, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake is a luxury five star resort with over 80 hectares of lush parkland, recreation facilities and Yue Feng Organic Farm. The hotel features 200 guest rooms with lakeside views plus an additional 25- room VIP villa, 1,600 square meters of function space, a Willow Stream Spa and Health Club and 5 Food and Beverage Outlets, including high-end signature Chinese Restaurant.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

*
Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers

*
Ensure the achievement of sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis

*
Solicit group, transient and/or banquet business through action plan preparation and execution

*
Establish parameters, quotes and negotiate prices, confirming by written contracts

*
Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel and trade related organizations

*
Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications

*
Work closely with Catering and Front Office to ensure all details of the contract were delivered and guests depart satisfied

* Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs

* Follow all safety policies

* Sales Managers are required at all times to be in observance of Hotel and Company policies and procedures, and interdepartmental cooperation

*
Participation in the Colleague Engagement Survey (CES), Health and Safety and JD Power initiatives

*
Contracts room nights within their specific market(s) considering the number of rooms, average rate and total revenue objectives of the hotel

*
Outlines and administers weekly sales call plan to ensure time and resources are maximized to complete as many qualified calls as possible, while balancing administrative duties as well as site inspections

*
Outlines and administers weekly site inspection plan so that new prospective clients are exposed to our hotel with future business opportunities, and existing clients are kept up to date on any upgrades or enhancements done within the hotel

*
Attendance at rate strategy meetings and regularly scheduled Sales Departmental meetings and group business meetings

* Participates in the D.A.R.T. Referral Program with goal for referring business to sister hotels/brands

*
Maintains positive relationships with all guests and vendors

*
Maintains account, contact, activity and business details within Opera S&C according to Fairmont standards

*
Ensures delivery of expected guest service through follow up and coordination with other hotel departments

*
Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required

*
Assists in compilation of market intelligence

*
Actively participates in prescribed sales training

Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

*
Minimum 18 months as a Sales Executive

*
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and Opera Sales & Catering, Opera PM, Outlook or relevant computer applications required

*
University/College degree in a related discipline preferred

*
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required

*
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

*
Highly responsible & reliable

*
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

*
Career and results oriented with the ability to be flexible with hours, days off, assignment and additional duties

*
Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced and constantly changing environment

*
English as a second languag and asset
