We are a newly constructed 183 room Hilton Garden Inn located in Long Island City, NY.

We are managed by Crescent Hotels Resorts, a Top 10 National Hotel and Resort Management Company which offers a comprehensive program of benefits designed to serve the diverse needs of our unique workforce. As a full time associate you will be eligible for partially employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 100 employer paid life insurance at one times your annual salary available on the first of the month after 60 days of employment. You will also be eligible for participation in our 401K program after 6 months of employment, during monthly enrollments, with a match of 50 cents on the dollar up to 6 and a 5 year progressive vesting schedule. You will also accrue vacation and personal time each paycheck at a rate of ten days of vacation and four personal days after one year (These accruals are based on the average hours you work.) After three months of employment you can begin utilizing any accrued personal time and after six months of employment you can begin utilizing any accrued vacation time. Full time associates also receive holiday pay for seven paid holidays a year. Every associate of ours also enjoys discounted hotel rooms within the Hilton brand and with Crescent Hotels Resorts properties, as well as a free employee meal program.

JOB OVERVIEW
Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

REPORTS TO Director of Sales Marketing

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares all event documentation and coordinates with sales, hotel departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post event phases.

Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.

Acts as liaison between field sales person and customer throughout the event process. Makes presence known to customer at all times during this process. Is available to solve problems andor suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.

Manages banquet and meeting space for assigned groups.

Advises staff as to ability to accommodate client demands including phone requirements, fit of available space and materials such as booths. Assist staff in promoting hotel, developing leads and securing re-bookings.

Access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Travel to meet with or call individual corporate clients by telephone to solicit annual, week day and weekend business.

Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services. Answers client inquiries.

Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.

Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper servicing of accounts.

Prepare and present weekly and monthly CateringSales reports.

Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts.

Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.

Represent hotel at trade shows. Set up exhibits involving bending, stooping, lifting and reaching overhead.

Detail events to include all food beverage, set up and audio visual needs. Ask appropriate questions of the clients and make suggestions to ensure the details meet the group and the hotels needs.

Create group resumes, BEOs and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel. Ensure hotel staff follows through on all requests.


Handle individual reservations for VIP clients. Ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction.

Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate binders in order to maintain essential records used in the department operation.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Must have at least 1 year of experience in a sales role for a branded hotel.

Ability to communicate in English.

Self-starting personality with an even disposition.

Must be willing to pitch-in and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.

Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.

Ability to effectively communicate with guests in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.

Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
