This position is responsible for providing support to the Director of Sales for sales and market fulfillment activities; generating revenue through new and existing accounts


* Assist the Director of Sales to identify new business through internal and external sources, including travel agents, travel-related groups and industry publications to increase revenue enhancement.
* Assist in the planning and development of effective sales strategies.
* Complete weekly sales calls (40 minimum) Guidelines: 10 outside, 2 sites & lunches, 20 prospect, 8 Thank you/follow up.
* SELL SELL SELLÂ… Manage your time & observe prime selling time (9:00am - 12:00noon and 1:00pm - 4:30pm daily) and use "ideal sales day" as guide
* Plan your week in advance!
* Attend scheduled meetings
a. Company conference calls as scheduled
b. Sales training as scheduled
c. Monthly one on one meeting with Corporate Director of Sales
* Complete weekly call report recaps every Friday by 5:00pm
* Generate new account checklists for new business
* Become proficient with all computer systems and all reporting functions.
* Assist to develop promotional ideas to increase sales.
* Book banquet food and beverage for business events. This includes selling of snacks, lunch, or dinner through caterers.
* Assist clients by offering suggestions regarding banquet area set-up, menus, decorations, etc. Assist in obtaining special equipment or supplies.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by management, such as helping with the setup and cleanup after a function.

Account Management
* Perform follow up and sends thank you letters for all completed groups and events and solicits for future business.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures (i.e., verify contracts, methods of payment, deposits, guarantees, etc.)
* Partner with the National Sales Managers by strategizing with them and working assigned accounts locally.


* College degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.

* Two (2) years sales experience, preferable in the hospitality industry.

* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
* Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.
* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
* Requires working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn property management system.
* Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign and reassign priorities.
* Must possess problem-solving skills.
* Must be available to varied schedules including nights and weekends.


* May be required to do light lifting or carrying.
* Capable of working in a fast paced environment and in stressful situations.
* Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
* May be required to walk, stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
* Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine and photo copier.
* Must be able to travel.
* Must be available to varied schedules including nights and weekends.
