The ideal candidate will possess the ability to generate conference, meeting and social events from a national market while maximizing sales and developing potential markets.

We are looking for a highly-motivated Sales Manager to join our team at The Mayfair in Los Angeles. About The Mayfair: 

Did you know that the Mayfair Hotel hosted the very first Oscar after Party?  Be part of history!  This hotel is undergoing a complete renovation, that will not only transform the hotel, but will remake an entire neighborhood.  Built during a period of opulence in the Roaring 20's, The Mayfair will emerge in 2016 as a marquis property in downtown LA with 300+ rooms and unique meeting and event space including a roof top pool.  Imagine the views of downtown from that space!

Position Description & Job Responsibilities

The Sales Manager will be self-motivating, aggressive and outgoing with a pleasant personality while being responsible for sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail.  Making personal visits, when necessary to target areas and calling on Companies and Associations in a specific market or area will be required of this position. The Sales Manager will rework and maintain old account files and solicit new accounts, will respond to all correspondence and trace dates for reworking and follow up.  They will stay in constant contact with Meeting Planners. 


Setting up creative and innovative site inspections and following through will be a critical to the success of this position.  It is an expectation that the Sales Manager will stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations for changes, which would affect operations.  Representing the Hotel at trade shows, meetings, seminars and functions through membership in association may be requested.

An understanding of how to build relationships which translate into sales is key to this position.  In addition, the sales manager will work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing as well as all members of the hotel staff to deliver flawless service to one another and our guests.

Formal Education and Job Related Requirements

Our preference would be that the candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma and 2 years' of collegiate study, preferably a degree.  Preferably, the candidate should have experience in hotel sales or related industry.  Knowledge of Salespro is a plus.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Job-Related Physical Requirements

This position requires the employee to engage in Frequent Sitting, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Eye/Hand Coordination, Near Vision, Far Vision, Color Recognition and Hearing. In addition, the position requires Occasional Standing, Walking, Bending Over, Crawling, Reaching, Crouching, Kneeling, Balancing, Pushing/Pulling, Lifting/Carrying 10lbs or less, and Manual Dexterity. The position involves the following Environmental Factors:  Working Inside, Working Alone, and Working Closely with Others.
