Job Description

The Westin Mount Laurel, the premier corporate and social hotel in the South Jersey market, is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our outstanding team as a Restaurant Server

 If you are looking to work in a Four Star hotel environment with a growing organization then this is the right place for you. The hotel has 173 beautifully appointed guest rooms including 10 Junior Suites. The hotel features all of the amenities that would be expected in a hotel of this calibre including deluxe appointed guest rooms, an Ala Carte Restaurant and bar, 24 hour Room Service, business center, a full fitness center and wired as well as wireless internet access. The hotel also has 22,000 square feet of meeting space including two ballrooms and six meeting and breakout rooms. The Westin is the market leader in both product and service and has built a strong reputation in the local corporate and social market as the place to book rooms for events and meetings.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Set up of assigned service areas, food and beverage service to guests, maintain cleanliness of all work areas, as well as assist guests and colleagues with any special requests. Serve food and beverage items to customers in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner.

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the Hotel’s standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Job Requirements

 

Min 2 years experience working in fine dining Restaurants

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, must have a flexible schedule and excellent communication skills.

Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must possess basic computational ability.

Must possess basic computer skills.

Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.

Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation.

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing abilitity
