Restaurant Host/ess

Position Summary

Hotel 1000 consists of 120 guest rooms, approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service spa, virtual Golf Club, and a new seafood restaurant concept emerging September 2017. The property is located in the heart of downtown Seattle, steps from the waterfront along Elliott Bay, and conveniently centered between Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, the business district and lively and historic Pioneer Square.

The Host is responsible for greeting and seating guests. Coordinates seating to balance workload among Servers. Oversees dining room maintenance. Monitors service to ensure guest satisfaction

  • Controls Reservation Book, accepts reservations and enters them accurately into the record

  • Maintains guest history files, uses information to enhance repeat guests experience

  • Assigns work stations and pre-meal side work, inspects dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to start of meal period

  • Maintains guest records to; record arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, availability

  • Inspects menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability

  • Greets guests in a polite professional manner

Required Skills and Experience
  • Exceptional guest service skills

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast paced and high volume environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Complies with all safety, sanitation and health department guidelines and regulations

  • Knowledge of general hotel operations, happenings and current events

  • Micros or similar POS operating experience

  • One to two years food service experience in a similar luxury property

  • Comply with all hotel/company standards.

  • Perform various tasks and assignments as directed by management
