POSITION PURPOSE


As the General Manager of Lela restaurant, you will be responsible for the restaurant operations, which includes all restaurant and bar beverage operations. You will be responsible for directing and organizing the activities and services of the restaurant and bar. You will lead all efforts to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations, possess a current, in-depth understanding of the industry, and have a proven track record of successful restaurant management roles.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES OF THE GENERAL MANAGER



  • Implement, develop and maintain all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality is up to standard and that guest expectations are met on a daily basis

  • Oversee the restaurant's complete beverage program, including the bar list, wine list and craft beverage list

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example

  • Create and nurture an environment of motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement and passion for providing service.

  • Utilize the budget/forecast to understand and achieve financial objectives

  • Ensure and maintain productivity of associates

  • Provide proactive feedback, coaching and counseling to associates

  • Develop and manage all financial, associate engagement and guest satisfaction plans and actions for the restaurant and bar

  • Maintain a positive cost management index for restaurant operations including but not limited to beverage and labor costs

  • Ensure any guest issues are handled in a timely manner and with a sense of urgency

  • Conduct staff performance reviews


 


REQUIREMENTS


 



  • High school diploma or GED

  • 4 years' experience in food & beverage/restaurant management


OR



  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality or Business Administration

  • 2 years' experience in food & beverage/restaurant management
