Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a Reservation Agent to work at our beautiful the H Hotel property in Midland, Michigan. This position is responsible for handling reservations, inquiries and cancellations and maintaining all group block management in an attentive courteous manner and quoting available rates to maximize room revenue.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Act as the primary resource for the operational and administrative functions for group block management including building blocks,
managing group inventory, billing, pre-arrival and post departure tasks as required. Act as a resource to the hotel and the client for information.
Maintain accurate files and systems for information retrieval as it relates to group bookings
Must be able to prioritize job functions in order to meet deadlines.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other departments to achieve common hotel goals.
Answer all incoming calls promptly, in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner.
Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities and hours of operation.
Book room reservations while focusing on maximizing room revenue and average rate using standard rate quoting scenario at all times. Up sell rooms when possible.
Enter reservations into the computer according to standard operating procedures.
Maintain accurate files and reports.
Handle all special reservations, to include V.I.P. reservations, packages and discounts.
Monitor daily sales activity and alert front office team of sold out nights, group status and possible problem situations
Be able to perform all duties of Guest Services Agent and assist at front desk as required by Hotel Management.
Communicate availability to wholesalers.
Call for occupancy at area hotels.
Review Reservations logbook and Guest Request log on a daily basis.
