Recreation Supervisor

The Recreation Supervisor’s primary responsibility is the overseeing the overall operations and guest satisfaction of the indoor and outdoor activity facilities. Ensuring the highest level of professionalism in service to all guests and members through maximum efficiency, safety and uncompromised attention to detail and guest care, and have thorough knowledge of all Recreation facilities and services.

Hotel Overview: Nestled along the shores of the legendary Yangcheng Lake, Fairmont Yangcheng Lake is a luxury five star resort with over 80 hectares of lush parkland, recreation facilities and Yue Feng Organic Farm. The hotel features 200 guest rooms with lakeside views plus an additional 25- room VIP villa, 1,600 square meters of function space, a Willow Stream Spa and Health Club and 5 Food and Beverage Outlets, including high-end signature Chinese Restaurant.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Recreation, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Demonstrates a commitment to personal guest service excellence

*
Greets guests and members in a friendly and efficient manner, escort them as required

*
Ensures the highest possible level of customer relations at all times

*
Maintains thorough knowledge of all strength and cardiovascular equipment and their programs as well as the proper use, alignment, safety and contraindications

*
Responsible for the daily supervision, leadership, scheduling, task assignment, and performance review of Health Club colleagues

*
Establishes qualifications for Health Club colleagues, and ensures that these qualifications are met or exceeded by all colleagues

*
Works with colleagues and supervisors to develop, monitor, and evaluate goals and objectives related to the Health Club operations and other aspects of the delivery of leisure services

*
Maintains cleanliness of all types of equipment, common areas, and service areas; ensuring the facility in peak sanitary condition at all times

*
Ensures sufficient stock of items in all service areas including towels, water, beverages, magazines, newspapers, clean headsets, and amenities

*
Maintains smooth operation of all equipment through periodic service checks, lubing, and reporting work orders promptly

*
Maintains current CPR, First Aid certifications, attends health & safety courses

*
Administers health history, questionnaires, fitness-wellness evaluations of members and clients

*
Maintains accurate records, as well as tracking, of all personal training clients, with a special emphasis on proper procedure and protocol

*
Assists members/ guests with use of the sauna, steam, whirlpool, etc.

*
Leads fitness exercise sessions, personal training sessions, group training experiences, and in-service education sessions

*
Schedules and sets personal appointments as well as appointments for team members.

*
Safeguards all clients, guests, and members throughout each experience, while upholding the philosophy of the spa fitness center

*
Follows Occupational Health and Safety regulations

*
Reports suspicious people, behavior, and vehicles to Hotels Security

*
Ensures adherence to Fairmont’s Code of Ethics

Qualifications:

*
Must be guest-oriented, have a vibrant personality, and radiate enthusiasm to assist people

*
Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever changing environment

*
Must posses Personal Trainer Certification through an internationally recognized certifying agency or organization such as ACE, ISSA, HFPA, NASM, IPTFA, and AASFP

*
Certified in first-aid training courses

*
Comprehensive knowledge in instructing and leading exercise in an adult fitness setting using proper form and spotting techniques

*
Minimum of one-year experience in fitness-wellness fields

*
Must be flexible in terms of working hours, and able to work with little or no supervision

*
Proficient in English language (verbal and written) with a second or third language is an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
