Job Description

Full Time Position 

PM 4:40PM-9PM

The Bartender prepares beverages for servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner by following standard recipes for traditional cocktails and specialty drinks.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepares cocktails and/or beverages to guest specifications
  • Describes all bar items; methods of preparation and prices as needed. Must have extensive knowledge of all bar/menu items
  • Works with guests to accommodate special requests and special dietary needs
  • Up sells established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues
  • Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Performs pre and post-shift side work; set-up, breakdown, condiments, roll-ups etc
  • Responds to guest inquiries and special requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction; notifies supervisor of guests' complaints and unusual situations
  • Cash handling/ balance bank at the end of each shift and calculating tip outs
  • Serving tables when needed

 Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years minimum experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend and holiday shifts as required by operational needs

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a hotel/resort environment
  • A valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Responsible Beverage Certified (TiPS)
  • Shift times are subject to change at any time, based on Department's needs. Applicants must be able to provide flexible availability, and can be scheduled for various shift times as needed by the Department Manager.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift/move and exert around 50 pounds of force occasionally, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard, calculator and other office/IT equipment.
