Sales Director Job Purpose

The Property Sales Director is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, and booking new business, while maintaining and growing the current client base at the hotel through various sales techniques

Job Requirements

What The Property Sales Director Will be Doing

  • Achieve account and revenue goals as established by Director, Field Sales.
  • Identify prospective new accounts for the hotel(s) if selling for more than one property.

  • Foster and build relationships with current top producing accounts.

  • The Sales Director makes sales calls on prospective new accounts located within the assigned market.

  • Prepare and present sales proposals to prospective customers in the assigned market.

  • Negotiate rates with the input of others.

  • The Sales Director tracks and enters all sales activities into customer database.

  • Communicate sales activities and results to Sales and Operations Management.

  • Complete weekly and quarterly reports and other projects as assigned by the due dates given.

  • The Sales Director closes deals and secures business.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Sales Director Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years sales or marketing experience, to include two years in hotel industry sales experience.

  • Previous experience in a convention center hotel, multi-unit sales, or similar capacity is preferred.

  • Must be able to establish a client base in a defined geographic area and or market segment through proactive direct outside sales efforts for the purpose of securing business for the hotel.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite and Property Management Systems.

  • Proficient in CRM (Customer Relationship Software).


Working Conditions

This job operates in an office environment, at the hotels, and a variety of client environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position may require some travel.
