Essential Job Functions:
The Server/Grill Cook will be primarily responsible for the service of food and/or beverage to include the order-taking, delivery and clearing of any food and/or beverage items. The Server/Grill Cook will also be responsible for cooking at our poolside grill.
Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals. Breakdown, clean and set-up tables and food stations. Comply with Essex Resort and Spa’s policies and Standards Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
Checks station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness. Greets the guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions for guest awareness. Takes the order and inputs the order into the Micros system to inform the kitchen of the particulars of the order. Retrieves order from kitchen, confirms its accuracy and delivers it to guests. Ascertain guest satisfaction throughout the meal service. Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
