Assist and support management staff with effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified employees.
Confirm and verify that new and existing employees possess proper employment eligibility documents. Conduct interviews for all positions.
Ensure compliance of federal & state Fair Labor Standard Act.
Conduct training programs & Assist department managers to ensure on the job training is completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate monitor hourly and management performance evaluation process. Assist department managers in writing annual reviews
Manage all worker compensation claims.
Maintain all benefits as benefits administrator for new hires, current and terminated employees. Assist employees with request for FMLA
Ensure hotel departments are entering weekly schedules into the time and attendance software. Process weekly payroll in ADP Work Force Now
reviewing department time edits and pay code updates. Reviews signs off on final per-transmission report to ensure accuracy of payment for weekly payroll.
Knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for New York City Hotels Local 6
Handle all employees grievances
Maintain in balance Vacation, Sick, Personal, Holiday & PTO accrual schedules
Hotel Experience in a Union environment preferred. Spanish a Plus
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Manage payroll functions including maintenance of payroll processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness of weekly payroll.
System administration of Time and Attendance module for tracking of employee hours.
Prepared weekly and monthly union report, union contribution, prepare 401K report for union
Prepared Month End Payroll Journal and accruals
Prepare month end journal for union
Reconcile all union dues and 401K
Reconcile medical, dental and vision benefits
Monthly reconciliation of wages vs SAP
Monthly Provision for Vac, sick, PTO, Holiday and personal
Performs monthly reconciliations and analysis of payroll and benefits related general ledger accounts.
Issue annual W-2s and any department of labor inquiries and audits.
Month end close payroll journal entries and accruals.
Responsible for tracking and reconciliation of Vacation, sick, PTO accruals
Responsible for developing and maintaining internal controls and standard operating procedures for all payroll and benefits.
Acts as a liaison between the Hotel and payroll processing company to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
Responsible for distribution of paychecks.
Work with Financial Director and other managers in Finance department on special projects.
Maintain quarterly reports on 940 and 941
Analyzed payroll on a weekly basis
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred Human Resources Experience in a union environment a must
Strong payroll processing foundation & solid knowledge of payroll and pay master role principles, practices and procedures
Minimum of 2-3 years payroll processing experience in a union environment is required
Solid computer skills, inclusive of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience working in General Ledger systems preferred.
One or more years of leadership experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills
Strong planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
Good presentation skills for educating internal employees
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
