Job Description

Westmont Hospitality Group is currently searching for a dynamic service and detail-oriented professional to join our team as Night Manager at Battery Wharf Hotel, Boston Waterfront.

Battery Wharf Hotel, Boston Waterfront is a 150-room luxury boutique hotel. This sophisticated, urban, waterfront retreat is surrounded by unique shopping, fine dining, spectacular coastal views, and the rich historical setting of downtown Boston, Massachusetts. We are just steps away from Boston's Italian North End, bustling Financial District, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and TD Garden - New England's premier sports and entertainment arena.

The Night Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Front Desk, Hotel Ambassador and Door during the overnight hours. Major responsibilities include leading a 1+ member team ensuring guests are satisfied with the arrival, departure and overall hotel experience. Responding to guest needs, ensuring safety and security of rooms and managing a motivated and skilled work force. Responsible for managing the priorities and establishing and/or implementing operating procedures and standards and completing financial management tasks, specifically credit exceptions, daily reconciliation and the night audit process.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified candidate will have a minimum of 1 – 2 years’ front office management and/or supervisory experience in a full-service hotel environment

Previous experience in night audit, front office operations and leading team members through motivation, coaching and development.

  • The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask. Working knowledge of rooms management systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of hotel operations and accounting processes and procedures. Proven experience supervising team members
  • Proven comfort and experience to interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and clientele, both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Proficient in the full Microsoft Office suite of products. Experience with Opera and Micros considered a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in the English language required. A second language considered a strong plus.
  • Ability to work an overnight schedule beginning at 10:30 pm until 7:30 am, however must be flexible to occasionally work varied hours to included days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Experience managing in a union environment considered a strong plus
