Lounge Server
As a Lounge Server with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding Food & Beverage offerings makes guests of our restaurants and lounges feel unique and valued.

Hotel Overview:

Located in Washington’s fashionable West End and adjacent to historic Georgetown, the Fairmont Washington, D.C. welcomes guests in capital style. With a sunlit urban courtyard that soothes the spirit, the Fairmont is the perfect hotel for business or leisure travel.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Restaurant & Bar Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

* Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service

* Presents menu and specials, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding drinks, appetizers and service

* Relay orders to the bartender and kitchen

* Serving food and beverage items to guests

* Handle cash and remittance; collects payment from customers

* Stocking of stations

* Maintain cleanliness of the lobby lounge; clears tables at conclusion of dining experience

* Following established service guidelines and practices; continually demonstrate the Service Promises with every interaction with guest and colleagues

* Carrying out other duties and responsibilities that may be requested by your teammates or manager

* Maintain a positive service attitude at all times and be willing to help and advise guests with all questions and requests they may have

Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards


Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions


Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods


Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Job Requirements

* Previous experience is an asset

* Previous Point of Sale (POS) experience an asset

* Excellent communication and organization skills

* Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills

* Highly responsible & reliable

* Ability to work well under pressure in fast paced environment

* Ability to work well as part of a team

* Ability to focus attention on and anticipate guest needs

* Ability to remain calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

* Constant standing and walking throughout shift

* Frequent carrying and lifting up to 20 lbs

* Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling

* Occasional ascending/descending ladders, ramps, stairs
