The Westin Toronto Airport Hotel currently has one (1) Part-Time position available for a Server in the Food & Beverage Outlets department – Crosswind Lounge. The Lounge Server is responsible for assisting customers in the restaurant as needed in accordance with all the food & beverage procedures and standards and safety and security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

  • Greets guest as they arrival at Crosswinds, assist with seating,  make menu suggestions, and/or daily special options
  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner; ensure customer satisfaction by resolving any problems that may arise.
  • Accurately and quickly take and place all food orders with the kitchen, according to the prescribed procedure.
  • Prepare and deliver beverage and dessert orders.
  • Check food to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are corrected and deliver food orders in a timely fashion.
  • Answer all questions about cooking methods, menu items, specials and prices of all items.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area/outlet. Clean, clear and reset dining room and lounge tables.
  • Keep service areas clean and stocked with required items.
  • Knowledge of menu items, their garnishes, contents, preparation method, and specials. Up sell to guests visiting the restaurant.
  • Enters all orders into the system timely. Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using Micros, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, and making change.
  • Open and close all checks to appropriate method of payment. Adhere to all proper cash handling procedures.
  • Follow proper procedures for voids, department charges, hospitality charges, and guest changes
  • Completes all side duties as per station assignments.
  • Alerts supervisor on duty of any guest issue that may arise.
  • Know hotel facilities and their location, hours of operation, and where to direct guests to find this information.

Other duties as required from the on duty manager.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • At least one year of Server experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to communicate with guests, respond to questions, etc.
  • Must be able to lift, pull and/or push 30+ lbs.
  • Basic computer skills, able to work Micros System
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Must be able to prioritize work
  • Must be a team player

Work Schedule:  Able to work various shifts including: days, evenings, weekends and holidays, based on needs.
