Looking for an amazing place to work and play in the Canadian Rockies? Come join our family! Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff, Alberta is looking for a Line Cook. Position:   Line Cook

Department:  Kitchen

Report to:   Head Chef and Supervisor's

Hours:   As required

Objective:  To maintain a high standard of food quality, presentation and cleanliness in all food outlets of the kitchen.

 

Basic Duties:

  • Ensure a high quality and presentation of all food
  • Prepare A La Carte menu and buffet menu items with CRMR standards
  • Follow portion and maintain cost controls
  • Follow all recipes for food items
  • Maintain reasonable cooking time during line work with a sense of urgency
  • Ensure that proper sanitation techniques and health and safety regulations are maintained at all times
  • Follow proper preservation of food products; raw, cooked and perishables
  • Set up stations mise en place and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  • Report all faulty equipment to supervisor
  • Work in direct coordination with all staff
  • Maintain a constant cleanliness of all kitchen areas including fridges and equipment
  • Follow all daily duty rosters
  • Adhere to the policy manual
  • Perform other associated duties as assigned

Requirements/Experience:

  • 2-4 years of practical experience, or culinary internship students considered
  • Culinary education an asset
  • Culinary internship/co-op considered
  • Substantial knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work all restaurant operating hours
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Physical demands, sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs)
  • Able to work under pressure for long hours of standing
