Job Description


Reg. Full Time Position

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production.
  • Maintain stock inventory and purchasing.
  • Ensure that working areas are always kept clean and in accordance of health regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise performance of kitchen staff to ensure proper activity.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as will be communicated by superiors.
  • Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food - in quality, quantity and safety.
  • Work towards exceeding customer's expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service.
  • Ensure all complaints, inquiries, and suggestions by guests are attended to accordingly.
  • Resolve possible disputes within the kitchen and report any unresolved.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature.
  • Assist with menu planning and recipe writing.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience of working in a professional kitchen and in a similar position. Preferably in a luxury setting and/or hospitality environment.
  • Ability to cope under stressful conditions and to make quick decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to details: adherence to specific ingredients and measurement needed for various menus.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant area.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and ability to motivate subordinate team members.
  • Strong ability to multi task.
  • Possess strong management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be creative; always willing to try something new.
  • Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card/SERVSAFE or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment. 
  • Shift times are subject to change at any time, based on Department's needs. Applicants must be able to provide flexible availability, and can be scheduled for various shift times as needed by the Department Manager.
