Job Description

Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for an IT Manager to work at our beautiful Dolce Norwalk property in Norwalk, CT.

 

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Providing support to guests, particularly those involved in coordinating meetings, events and conferences, in ensuring that all of their IT needs are met, and that all their IT equipment works to their full satisfaction.
  • Receive, respond and troubleshoot incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding PC, AV and/or hardware issues
  • Proactively maintains a full and thorough knowledge of standard IT equipment and how it all works together, including PCs, CD-ROM players, USBs, etc.
  • Maintain a full and working knowledge of hardware, operating systems, application software and supporting tools available in the market today.
  • Advise the Manager of Operations on recommended IT spend and upgrade requirements
  • Be available to support the IT needs of colleagues across all departments.
  • Providing exceptional guest service to all external/internal clients at all times.
  • Abide by property and legislative health & safety guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned or required, including assisting with Conference Department duties

Basic Qualifications

  • College diploma in the field of computer science, technology or IT; current enrollment in such program or the equivalent work experience (as determined by the company)
  • Previous information technology experience inclusive of troubleshooting end-user concerns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Apple and Windows based PC’s and wireless networks
  • Adaptable to learning new and customized software programs
  • Analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to guest satisfaction and service standards
  • Proven ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment; able to work with minimal supervision 
  • On-call availability; must be able to work variable shifts, holidays, and special events, as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience in a high volume hotel , conference center or resort
  • Able to effectively deal with internal and external guests, with a high level of tact and professionalism  
  • Able to exercise good judgment in making decisions.
  • Warm, personable, professional and energetic demeanor
  • Comfortable interfacing with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English.

 

 

Physical requirements:

 

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Frequently is required to talk or hear. 
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components.
