What is the Internship Program?

Along with our graduate development programs, we offer an exciting world of hospitality opportunities to current students and new graduates. These internships aim to give talented graduates, who are also passionate about hospitality, a kick start to their career.

INTERNSHIP opportunities include Event Services, Finance/Accounting, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Human Resources, Revenue Management or Sales & Marketing. Students receive a 45 days training plan and will be assigned a mentor who will support their personal and professional development.

Front office Internship requirements

Having detailed knowledge of department Brand Standards.

Implementing and following through improvements identified.

Ensures a sales attitude is adopted at all times and maintain an awareness of all sales opportunities within the hotel.

Ensures that all refused business is recorded with reasons for refusal.

Adheres to pre-set availability and Rate Controls.

Ensures a high level of product knowledge of the hotel and local area.

Maintains and updates Guest History and Marketing Data Base as laid down in the front office procedures.

Ensures that a high level of customer service is constantly maintained.

Ensures the Front Office Manager is kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from either customers or other departments.

Daily maximization of Room Sales and Revenue for the Hotel through Upselling.

Comply with all company policies relating to Front Office.

Comply with all systems and procedures as laid down by the Front Office Service Manager

Know the Hilton HHonors Club - advertise for new members, support the supervisor in the administrative work.

Have thorough knowledge of the building and actively sell the hotel installations and service offers.

Accept reservations and enter these into the system.

Be familiar with the daily activities in the hotel.

To be fully aware of fault reporting procedure, Fire policy and procedure, Bomb

threat procedure and Company code of conduct.

To have knowledge of & to understand the company's Health & Safety Policy & to act accordingly.

To inform a manager of any issue you believe to be a risk to yourself or others.

What does the Program cover?

INTERNSHIP consists of a 6-month training program which is based in one department. It includes:

Kick-off orientation seminar at designated venue in beginning

Training of hotel operations and functional job knowledge

Assigned property mentor

Classes through Hilton Worldwide University and instructor-led webinars

The criteria are:

Fluent in English. A second modern language would be considered a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with diverse team members.

Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.

Be able to perform a variety of functions including the completion of practical duties relating to the job role.

An ability to demonstrate an understanding of good customer service and an ability to behave in a courteous and appropriate manner with colleagues and clients.
