We are currently looking for a part time Human Resources intern to work closely with our Human Resources Director in a variety of projects during 2017. Schedule: Two 5 hours days per week.Weekdays only. Flexible with dates and times. About our Hotel: The Four-Diamond, award-winning Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center is Located in the historic Colorado National Bank building in downtown Denver. The Renaissance hotel is part of the Marriott family and it is managed by Stonebridge Companies. Our hotel offers 230 guest rooms in the heart of downtown Denver. For business and social functions we offer 6,000 square feet of gathering space and also utilize our historic with sixteen original murals created by famous Colorado artist Allen Tupper lobby for private functions. For dining options, we offer the award winning range restaurant, teller bar and the only illy caffé in Colorado.

PURPOSE :To assist in the overall operation of Human Resources by maintaining accurate associate records. To provide support in the areas of employment, payroll, benefit administration, associate relations and training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Screen all applicants and determine eligibility per our on-line recruiting site.

Refer to department manager when appropriate

Conduct all reference checks and execute the employment process.

Prepare correspondence and memos as needed

Maintain all logs ( HR, Safety, Policies & Procedures, etc) daily and as needed

Assist with all benefit administration including vacation, PTO, anniversary pay, etc. Coordinates to ensure benefit policies and procedures are followed, forms are accurate and administered in a timely manner

Complete appropriate paperwork for new hires, terms.

Assists with scheduling Brand and company orientation and training

Assists with greeting concerned associates and directing to appropriate manager

Maintain associate’s files per company policy

Ensuring that filing is complete and timely

Assist with Associate Awards & Recognition Programs. Contribute to Company newsletter and distribute to all associates

Keep associate bulletin board current

Inventory office and pertinent HR forms on a regular basis; complete purchase orders when needed

Other projects and requirements pertinent to the efficient and accurate preparation and maintenance of payroll, payroll system, on-line recruiting system, and associate files.

Must have excellent communication skills – both written and oral. Bilingual a plus.

Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.

Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.

Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Must be able to keep information confidential. • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Proficient in HRIS systems, time keeping system. • Proficient at MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment normally entails the following: • Indoor work environment • Exposure to cleaning chemicals throughout the day • Minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with hotel environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
