Job Description

BASIC JOB FUNCTION:

To perform a combination of tasks that maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Make rounds through the halls each shift to ensure public areas are clean and tidy, taking care to remove or replace anything out of order.

2.

Coordinate and help housekeeping with heavy lifting and priority requests

3.

Stock and maintain cleanliness and organization of storage closets

4.

Walk all assigned buildings or floors to ensure all are free of linen, trash, or equipment

5.

Display good customer relation skills and take initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.

6.

Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.

7.

Move/arrange furniture and dusts/polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.

8.

Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using a vacuum cleaner.

9.

Collect soiled linens for laundering and receive and store linen supplies in the linen closet.

10.

Refurnish room with supplies, towels, etc. as required. Stock cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for the shift.

11.

Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork; wash windows, door panels, and sills.

12.

Empty wastebaskets and empty and clean ashtrays. Transport trash and waste to disposal area.

13.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.

14.

Deliver items to floors when requested and assist with others areas of the hotel when needed.

15.

Ensure uniform and appearance is clean and professional, Protect company assets.

16.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1.

Previous hotel housekeeping or other applicable cleaning experience preferred

2.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

3.

Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
