REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Villa Manager. In his/her absence reports to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager. Works in close harmony with Room Attendants, Houseman, Housekeeping Inspectors and other areas of the Resort. JOB SUMMARY: 1. Participates in the evaluation of his/her subordinates. 2. Informs Housekeeping Management of performance of employees and notes any actions requiring commendation, disciplinary or corrective action. 3. Insures that employees under his/her supervision abide by the policies and procedures stated in the Hawk's Cay Resort Handbook. 4. Works with the Rental Management office and the Engineering department regarding broken items and items for repair. 5. Notifies the Housekeeping office of any Resort policy not followed by guests, such as pets or unauthorized use of guest rooms/villas. 6. Monitors and Supervises the performance of Room Attendants, Houseman and Inspectors assigned to his/her section 7. Works closely with Room Attendants, Houseman and Inspectors to train/retrain them for their tasks and assist them in creating a product that is acceptable by Resort Standards. 8. Does occasional spot checking behind both Room Attendants and Inspectors for Quality Control 9. Will be responsible for taking workers back to areas that need redoing and making sure the worker is aware of the correct way to complete the task. 10. Will be responsible for re assigning credits/tasks to staff throughout the work day 11. Will be responsible for checking all rooms/villas returning for out-of-order and assigning appropriately to staff. 12. Will perform frequent checks of the computer for Eco's, new arrivals and any other status changes of guestrooms throughout the workday. 13. Ensure all necessary checklists are completed by Inspectors and Houseman. QUALIFICATIONS: The Housekeeping Supervisor should have previous experience as a Room Attendant and/or Housekeeping Inspector in a similar organization. Strong leadership and public interaction skills are required. Must be able to make decisions reguarding staff and customer service. Previous management experience is helpful. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Housekeeping Supervisor should be in excellent physical condition; capable of climbing stairs and performing walking and standing for at least eight hours. Complete mobility (the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and lift) is required. He/she may often expect to work long hours under pressure; rooms will have to be turned over quickly without sacrificing quality. One can expect to work on weekends and holidays.
