Award winning Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in the heart of Silicon Valley is seeking an energetic and detail oriented full time Housekeeping Supervisor who is looking to be a part of our fun and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:



Manages the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping, public space and laundry areas for assigned shifts. Ensures that the rooms and public space areas are spotless and continually restocked and straightened


* Participates in the development and implementation of processes, procedures and standards for departments which support achievement of service and financial goals
* Participates in the preparation and implementation of the annual budget; monitors achievement of budget and takes corrective steps as appropriate
* Inspects rooms and public space areas continually
* Determines appropriate staffing levels for forecasted business and schedules employees accordingly
* Implements process for providing employees with customer service, technical and safety training on an ongoing basis
* Tracks the inventory, purchasing and disbursement for all linens, cleaning supplies, customer room and restroom supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
* Supervises the operation (and/or outsourced relationship) with the laundry
* Monitors assigned departments with compliance to safety standards
* Coordinates room availability with the Front Office Manager


Develops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement


* Recruits and selects qualified candidates
* Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities
* Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
* Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potential


Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Country Inn & Suites Be Our Guest service experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of Caring, Comfortable, and Consistent service


* Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service
* Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems
* Provides genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis
* Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction
* Performs other duties required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality


Personally completes Room Attendant, Linen Runner, Public Space Cleaner, and other housekeeping departmental duties when needed


* Prepares bed and bath linens
* Cleans and straightens rooms
* Displays and replaces amenities and promotional materials
* Remove trash, soiled linen, etc. and take to appropriate area for pick up
* Maintains supplies necessary to clean rooms efficiently
* Utilize the proper cleaning methods to prevent injury
* Keeps supply cart stocked
* Laundry, pressing and folding, towels, linen, etc.
* Report deficiencies in guest rooms and on guest floors to the housekeeping/engineering management team
* Ensure cleanliness of guest room hallways, elevators, public areas and service corridors in accordance with hotel standards
* Inventory and maintain the cleanliness of the linen closets
* Project an image of professionalism, friendliness and willingness to provide personalized service to our guests
* Adhere to the hotel's lost and found policies and procedures


Requirements:


* Ideal candidate will have experience working in a hotel environment that provides a superior level of guest service and professionalism
* Ability to work quickly while maintaining a close attention to detail
* Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members and guests
* Must possess a strong team spirit
* Maintain high energy for long periods of time
* Ability to speak and read English and Spanish or Farsi preferred
* Able to work a variable schedule


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


* Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
* Ability to lift, pull, push up to 70 pounds on an ongoing basis
* Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist on an ongoing basis
* Ability to stand for long periods of time
* Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
