Housekeeping Dispatcher

Position Summary
This position assists the Housekeeping Department with the coordination of both internal and external guest requests. The position is responsible for the daily coordination of Housekeeping staff assignment and communication of guest and departmental requests.
Job Specific 90%
• Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner
• Monitors and responds to dispatch radio
• Responsible for the issuance of departmental radios and other equipment
• Provides communication between staff and management for effective operations
• Knowledge, understanding and compliance of policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively to establish and maintain working relationships with the guest, staff and management
• Log all calls in hotel communication tool (HOTSos)
• Dispatches guest/Telecom/supervisor calls to appropriate parties
• Compiles and retains daily housekeeping department records
• Monitors schedule and assist with payroll duties as needed
• Continually communicates with Front Office and Floor Managers to verify status of all guest rooms
• Constantly updates PMS with room status information
• Performs all duties in a timely and professional manner
• Other duties as assigned

• Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
• Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
• Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees
• Executes emergency procedures in accordance with Loews Hotels standards
• Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
• Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
• Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
• Complies with Loews Hotels standards, policies and rules
• Recycles whenever possible
• Remains current with hotel information and changes
• Complies with hotel uniform and grooming guidelines
Required Skills and Experience
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Required:
• Minimum one year housekeeping or related experience
• English language skills
• Excellent communication and guests relations skills
• Computer skills to include word, excel and data entry
• Ability to type at least 25 wpm
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

Preferred:
• Opera and HotSos experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred
