Paséa Hotel & Spa is looking for a Host/Hostess to join our team!

Job Summary:

A Host/Hostess is responsible providing exceptional customer service, which includes: welcoming and warmly greeting guests on arrival. Answering telephones, taking reservations and managing the efficient and timely seating of guests to a table that best serves their wishes.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greets guests upon arrival and seats them at their table
  • Provides them a menu and provides general information about the restaurants and meal options at the hotel
  • Prepares and maintains a list of guests waiting to be seated
  • Records guest names and number of guests in each party
  • Provides seated guests a menu and introduces them to server as they are seated
  • Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
  • Cleans work areas and waiting areas per department standards
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation and health department guidelines
  • Must wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes. Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Answers telephone and assists guests by recording reservations, providing information about menu options, and restaurant location
  • Remains aware of current house count, visiting VIP's, and hotel events to provide excellent service
  • Assists service staff by running food, refilling beverages and bussing tables in dining room if needed

Job Requirements:

  • Requires ability to serve needs of guest through verbal face-to-face interactions
  • Must demonstrate positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Requires communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Requires ability to learn and use telephone and computer systems used at the hotel
  • Requires ability to serve needs of guests through verbal face-to-face interactions
  • Requires ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be flexible in schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Prior customer service and cash handling experience desired
  • Experience using OpenTable is a plus

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift/move and exert around 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move items such as plates, coffee trays and dishes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The team member is subject to environmental conditions found working both inside and outside. The team member is frequently subject to loud voices, noises, or music when working in or around the kitchen and work areas.
