Purpose of the Job

To oversee operations of the Concierge desk, bell stand, and the Front Door.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily/weekly payroll and schedule. Schedule and conduct staff meetings.
  • Responsible for interviewing applicants, training all new staff members, and handling all disciplinary issues.
  • Attend all bi-monthly Department Head meetings, weekly Rooms Division meetings, and weekly Managers Training meetings.
  • Conduct Annual performance appraisals for all staff members.
  • Maintain logs and directories for department use. (i.e. auto/limousine rentals, departmental accounting, etc.)
  • Coordinate and supervise all functions within the department.
  • Perform all duties of concierge with poised composure.


  • Maintain inventory of deparment supplies.
  • Consistent atttendance and punctuality as outlined by supervisor.
  • Additional duties not listed above may also be requested by supervisor.
  • College degree preferred.



  • Must be a member of Les Clefs d’Or.
  • Must have a minimum of five years concierge experience.
  • Ability to communicate (read and/or write and speak) in the English language to the level of mutual understanding with supervisor, coworkers, and guests.
  • Professional presentation and grooming in conjunction with The Langham, Boston grooming standards.
  • Ability to stand for length of shift; Stand, Sit, Reach, Grasp; Lift/Carry up to 50-75 lbs.; Walk Climb, Kneel, Squat, Bend, Push/Pull.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of Boston.
  • Digital dexterity; capable of using a computer keyboard.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
