Position Summary

Loews Annapolis Hotel, a 215 room full service, upscale Hotel in downtown Annapolis is seeking a friendly, polished and well spoken individual for a full time Guest Service Agent for the Front Office.

Guest Service Agents performs a variety of guest service activities in an exceptionally friendly, professional, and efficient manner commensurate with the demands of a world-class hotel.  Registers guests, assigns rooms, settles guest accounts, and reconciles guest revenue statements, answers incoming/in house phone lines, directs phone calls and/or taking messages, coordinates communication among hotel personnel, receives, processes and performs wake up calls for guests, maintains records and/or files of all communication and activities, and coordinates with other hotel departments to satisfy guest requests.  Handles Concierge duties as well.

Specific job responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Welcome and register guests in an outstandingly friendly, professional, and efficient manner, assigning rooms which satisfy all special requests
  • Obtain necessary credit and payment information from guests
  • Provide check cashing and foreign currency conversion for hotel guests
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to satisfy guest requests
  • Provide detailed information about hotel facilities and operating hours
  • Notify Housekeeping of all special requests, late checkouts, room changes, and day use rooms
  • Post charges received by the Front Desk from other hotel outlets
  • Adhere completely to all Loews Hotels Star Service standards
  • Sell rooms in accordance with Reservations  sales strategies
  • Operates multi line call equipment
  • Answers phones in a polite and professional manner
  • Uses computer to verify identity
  • Receive and transmit guest messages
  • Send, receive, and ensure prompt delivery of guest faxes
  • Set up and provide guest wake up calls:  receive process and perform.
  • Serves as communications Hub during emergency procedures
  • Perform check out and cash handling activities in accordance with all hotel cashiering and credit policies
  • Other duties as assigned and outlined during the interview

Required Skills and Experience

The candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be considered for this position:

  • At least one year of experience in an upscale, fast paced customer service environment
  • General knowledge of local sites and area
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for an eight-hour shift

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience handling multi phone line telephone systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months Front Desk experience at a comparable quality hotel or equivalent, more is preferred
  • general knowledge of hotel departments
