Group Manager

Position Summary
• Receives convention files from Sales Department and reviews them for accuracy and thoroughness
• Provides written and verbal communication to client regarding the management of their account
• Develops relationship with client by maintaining contact on a regular basis
• Identifies areas of opportunity to sell souvenir cups, food vouchers or other services available at the resort
• Responsible for receiving rooming lists on time and monitoring reservation receipt and entry and group pickup
• Creates a resume for each group to communicate, in a timely manner, information to facilitate efficient purchasing, scheduling and staffing by all departments
• Forwards Group Resume to client for review and approval
• Provides personal attention to client, at all times, to ensure total guest satisfaction
• Facilitates pre-conference meeting when required
• Provides for any last minute needs client may have
• Develops relationships with Loews Hotels’ Universal counterparts
• Conducts site inspections, as assigned, with definite bookings
• Conducts walk-in site inspections for potential group sales
• Maintains all information in Delphi System or other local tracking system
• Assists in establishing good relationships with employees, other departments and outside preferred vendors and other agencies
• Attends weekly operations meetings, weekly department, pick up, group resume meetings.
• Support the Front Office Manager and Director of Guest Services with projects assigned
• Oversee the responsibilities of the Group Coordinator(s) within the Front Office Department
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Required:
• Minimum two years progressive hotel experience
• Knowledge of Guest Room Management and maintaining room blocks
• Excellent organizational, creative and selling skills
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
• Ability to apply concepts and principles of sales management
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence
• Knowledge of computer operations utilized in hospitality management
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Excellent communication skills – oral and written
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays


Qualification Standards

Certification/Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

Experience: Previous Front Office Management, Reservations and/or Sales experience preferred
