Job Requirements


The Golf Sales Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
 
  Essential job FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides overall direction and coordination of golf events
  • Contacts clients to sell special amenities and/or extras to enhance their stay
  • Establishes strong rapport with clientele; maintaining strong communication prior to event
  • Maintains strong client base within golf market segment
  • Maintains close contact with clients to determine numbers attending, types of facilities required, meal arrangements, tee times and special needs
  • Communicates effectively with resort staff to ensure smooth delivery of all golf services
  • Guides clients through property/golf course limitations
  • Maintains tee sheets for golf groups on all golf courses to ensure accuracy
  • Confirms and clearly communicates all details of group to customers and staff (i.e. player guarantees, format, scoring, billing, etc.)
  • Produces monthly reports including Golf MK13 and 14, incentive backup, golf executive summary
  • Maintains the group golf shared drive including contracts, resumes, forms and email
  • Coordinates all aspects of tournament on the day of the event (i.e. pairings, carts, signage, on-course contests, F&B, drink coupons, billing, tee prizes, etc.)
  • Participates in and assists the Director of Golf & Director of Sales in writing the annual business plan and quarterly partner reports
  • Conducts site tours for booked and potential group golf guests
  • Achieves designated goals in following areas: monthly room night revenues, group golf revenues,  golf rounds and golf tournaments
  • Manages golf attrition as per contracted agreements
  • Maintains strong knowledge of golf markets, with the ability to sell and service golf events at Wild Dunes Resort
  • Actively participates in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and to create booking opportunities
  • Coordinates weekly and/or monthly sales appointments in both the local and regional market
  • Develops a strategic account management database to increase business levels in both peak and low demand periods
  • Participates in geographically appropriate trade shows and/or golf tournaments
  • Aggressively sells Wild Dunes Resort group golf business
  • Explains and justifies expenses to clients
  • Quickly evaluates alternatives and decides on a plan of action as necessary
  • Evaluates each piece of  business to ensure business can be properly serviced
  • Executes golf sales plan to exceed goals
  • Maintains strong awareness of trends in hospitality, especially focusing on golf
  • Reviews all billings prior to submitting for processing
  • Sells, coordinates and delivers merchandise and/or gift certificates utilizing brochures and other marketing tools
  • Assists the Director of Sales in constant analysis of golf markets
