Meyer Jabara Hotels is looking for a General Manager for the Inn at Henderson’s Wharf in the Baltimore’s Fells Point District. 

Harbor Magic is a collection of 3 boutique hotels: The Pier 5 Hotel, The Admiral Fell Inn, and The Inn at Henderson’s Wharf. All 3 are conveniently located on the waterfront of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
Harbor Magic properties are in two of the city's most happening Baltimore waterfront districts. Pier 5 Hotel is located in Inner Harbor, where there's a bustling seaport, Harbor Place shopping complex, Oriole's stadium and the National Aquarium, making it the city's most popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
Inn at Henderson's Wharf and The Admiral Fell Inn are located in historic Fell's Point, where coffeehouses, ghost tours, music shops and more than 120 pubs and bars make this district the hub of Baltimore's entertainment and nightlife. No matter which Harbor Magic Hotel you choose, you'll experience Baltimore at its finest.

This opportunity requires experience in all phases of hotel management, including sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage, budget/forecast management, rooms, housekeeping and maintenance. The General Manager will join the hotel team in providing our guests with outstanding hospitality and themed destination experiences.

In addition to the usual requirements for a General Manager, we are looking for an individual who possesses a demonstrated track record of consistently delivering:

  • Above average operational results at the HP and NOI lines
  • Superior team work; creating heart connections with associates, empowering associates and creating a learning environment that develops associates, who are respected at all levels for the care they give our guests. 
  • Imaginative and innovative sales and marketing programs that result in deeper penetration of current customer markets and the development of new customer niches. Thus, producing above average REVPAR market performance and catering revenue from banquets, conferences, special events, and weddings.
  • Significantly above average guest satisfaction and associate satisfaction scores.
  • At least one year General Manager Experience.

  • Bring creativity and conceptual development of new F&B experiences to further the hotels reputation for excellence
  • A commitment to staying current with industry trends
  • The ability to understand and use digital marketing (internet, social media, etc.) to promote the property
  • A focus on continuous improvement of the guest experience
  • Uses good judgment and has high personal integrity with unquestionable ethical and moral standards.

  • Work Environment – Indoor and Outdoor assignments at the Inn at Henderson’s Wharf may include but not limited to; Inn at Henderson’s Wharf and Waterfront Promenade, Marina Tiki Hut, Admiral Fell Inn and Bond Street Pier.  The major responsibility in this position is to operate the entire Henderson’s Property; therefore a significant portion of the workday is spent moving about, speaking, and listening, usually while standing up. The vast majority of time is spent moving about while communicating with fellow associates or guests.  Close interaction with staff and guests is essential in this position to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Physical Requirements/ Demands – Heavy lifting/lowering over 30 lbs., Pulling and pushing of equipment, Reaching above shoulder, Finger Dexterity, Normal vision/ color vision and depth perception, a lot of walking, standing, repetitive bending, and climbing.
  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  Full- Time, including holidays and weekends. Work shifts vary based on hotel needs; scheduled shifts vary by days and times and can range from 8 hours or more based on needed staffing levels.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications –

  • Proven track record of meeting budgets, understanding P&L statements, and cost controls.
  • Track record of promoting an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Ability to interact with others in an honest, fair and respectful way.
  • Maintain an open door policy.
  • Must be well organized and be able to prioritize and process all required administrative documents to meet corporate or brand timelines.
  • Computer proficiency to include Excel, Word, Outlook and a hotel brand software system.
  • At least one year of General Manager experience 

Must exhibit strong leadership, management, communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and multitasking, reasoning, problem-solving, and paying attention to detail are required, along with the ability to maintain poise in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
