Job Description

Supervise and train the front desk associates and greet guests in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner, process check-ins and check-outs, issues room keys, answers questions, and resolves guest requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner. Register and assign rooms to guests. Issue room key and escort instructions to guest as appropriate, without announcing room numbers.

2. Recommend hotel amenities and local attractions. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests and shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions.

3. Keep records of room availability and guests’ accounts. May make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests.

4. Compute bill, collects payment and makes change for guests. May post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone by hand or machine.

5. Transmit and receive messages using equipment such as telephone, fax or switchboard.

6. Understand and enforce the hotel company credit policies. Account for all cash makes deposits in accordance with hotel and company policies.

7. Resolve guest requests.

8. Create a productive and positive atmosphere at the front desk

9. Assist with training new associates

10. Constantly audit all desk work for accuracy and consistency and coach and counsel staff when appropriate.

11. Work with front desk agents to balance drawer at the end of each shift and ensure completion of shift checklist

12. Check-in and check-out guests and process payments

13. May deposit guests’ valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box; may order complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests.

14. Take responsibility for assigned employees in the absence of the Department Manager, assign work, and ensure proper performance of assigned employees.

15. All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Two years’ hotel front desk agent experience required.

Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

Previous supervisory experience preferred

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
