Front Desk Agent

Position Summary

Welcome and register guests in an outstandingly friendly, professional, and efficient manner, assigning rooms which satisfy all special requests

Obtain necessary credit and payment information from guests

Provide detailed information about hotel facilities and operating hours

Notify Housekeeping of all special requests, late checkouts, room changes, and day use rooms

Post charges received by the Front Desk from other hotel outlets

Adhere completely to all Loews Hotels Star Service standards

Sell rooms in accordance with Front Desk sales strategies

Receive and transmit guest messages

Send, receive, and ensure prompt delivery of guest faxes

Set up and provide guest wake up calls

Perform check out and cash handling activities in accordance with all hotel cashiering and credit policies

Distribute and coordinate completion of SQS survey cards during guest check-out

Enter guest comments daily on Guest Complaint log for communication to hotel Executive Committee

Coordinate room changes for guests

Issue, provides access, and close out guest safe deposit boxes

Answer telephone calls and guest inquiries in a friendly and professional manner

Required Skills and Experience

Must have high school diploma, at a minimum

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, ability to speak a second language is an asset

Must have excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills

Must be customer-service orientated and have excellent hospitality skills

Must have Opera experience

Must be computer literate and be able to type at least 25 wpm

Must have minimum one year hotel front-desk experience, knowledge of area and services an asset

Must have the ability to train, motivate, and give direction to staff

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

 
Must be adaptable to change

Must be able to work in fast-paced environment

Must be able to push, stand, stoop, bend and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
